Neil Jacobs
12 String Guitar
Thursday, October 15th
7:00 p.m.
Neil Jacobs is truly a remarkable performer on the 12-string acoustic guitar. Drawing inspiration from his world travels and improbable life experiences, he shares his amazing stories with his audience as he performs breathtaking compositions representing each adventure. Whether it be music influenced by his studies and travels with the Gypsies of Spain, the refugee camps of the tragic Balkan War, or surreal "cowboy" television specials in Eastern Europe, Neil brings the music to life, pushing the limits of this traditional American folk instrument as he fuses Gypsy, Celtic, Balkan, and Classical influences into new American music. His release, "American Gypsy,” featuring music inspired by the folk music of the Balkans and beyond, was nominated "Album of the Year" by the American Music Awards. His latest release, “12-String Guitar,” is homage to the classic instrument featuring a striking array of styles and concert favorites.

The Community Partner Award recognizes the vital role of organizations that work collaboratively with JCC to provide educational, social, cultural, and civic enrichment of the area.
Established in 2000 as a partnership between JCC and Alcas Corporation (later renamed Cutco Corporation), Cutco Corporate College is designed to promote education among its employees through skills development and customized training. Cutco employees are encouraged to attain either a Cutco College Certificate or an associate degree.
Since its inception, over 100 employees have successfully completed a variety of courses through Cutco Corporate College. Classes have been offered on site and during the work day.
JCC also collaborates with Cliffstar Corporation in Dunkirk and DFT Communications in Fredonia to provide programming similar to Cutco Corporate College.
The JCC Foundation is a private, non-profit organization formed in 1983 to manage contributions made on behalf of JCC and to allocate the funds to JCC programs or events which are not included in the college's operating expense budget. JCC Foundation funds are used to support scholarships, faculty development, cultural events, acquisition of instructional resources, and special programs for students, faculty, and the community.
